Forklift Truck Training

Course overview

We offer forklift truck training courses (all types) to accommodate your workforce, whatever your training needs. Just establish which course is required, according to your employee level of competence and experience.

The practical element of the training will be conducted using the customer’s equipment. It is also the customer’s responsibility to ensure the equipment is suitable for its intended use and is properly maintained and that all trainees are in possession of the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). We carry out all forklift truck training courses at your work location. Training is strictly specific to the types of truck/s in use. No more than 3 candidates can be registered on any course at any time. Areas to set up obstacle courses for a practical test and pallets will be required.

Classroom and site based at client premises with adequate room for all candidates. 240v power required for projector allowing power point presentations and training DVD’s. Large screen TV’s with HTMI connections are also acceptable. Areas to set up practical tests and driver obstacle course. Pallets required.

Clients Receive
Individual Certificates of Competency specific to the plant in operation.

Course content

All of our courses include:

  • Power point Presentation
  • Course hand outs
  • Practical Test
  • Detailed pre-start check lists
  • Written/Oral Test
  • Certificate of Basic Training

Novice Course  (3 day)
People with no previous experience.

Operator Course (1 day)
People who have had previous operating experience, but either do not have a certificate or are unable to provide proof that they held one.

Refresher Course (1 day)
For those operators who have been trained and tested in the past, and are able to provide a certificate of competency.

Conversion Course (1 day)
For those operators who already hold a certificate in one type of fork truck, but would like to gain a certificate in another type. This often results in a much wider appeal to prospective employers.


Throughout the training course practical assessments will be made followed by a practical test along with a multiple choice written test at the end of the session.

Successful candidates gaining 80 percent or over will be awarded a certificate of competency valid for 36 months.

The assessment can take place orally for those who have difficulties with reading or writing.
